Commune Wednesdays

Commune Wednesday was a monthly young adult campaign that celebrated art, music, and fashion and took a stand against big industry, especially Big Tobacco.

In collaboration with local bands, DJs, artists, and designers, we hosted free monthly events celebrating local and taking a stand against Big Tobacco.

Funded by anti-tobacco settlement money, Commune launched in San Diego, CA, in 2008 and was eventually published in the American Journal of Public Health for reducing smoking rates amongst young adults in San Diego.

Nine of the ten years the campaign was active, I managed the direct implementation and strategy of over 150 Commune Wednesday events which included client, budget, and design across all five campaign markets (San Diego, San Francisco, Burlington, Minneapolis, and Duluth).
